George Washington:
The Character and Influence
of One Man

This massive 8 1/2'' x 1'' 468-page overview of the life of George Washington was published posthumusly. Desta Garrett now of dg ink, as the technical editor and project manager, retraced all of author Verna M. Hall’s years of research and sources to confirm every word and cite correctly. This book was compiled from resources original and/or contemporary to Washington, including rare books and facsimile documents available only from microfiche. The text is annotated and several extensive indexes were produced by Desta Garrett.

George Washington was the most prolific writer of the Revolutionary War period. Excerpts from his correspondence, diaries, and journals are included, as are pages from his age 13 Geometry notebook. These original materials needed extensive retouching.

Desta Garrett located and contracted permissions for art and extensively illustrated the book with paintings and historic graphics. In addition to handling all details for prepress, Desta Garrett now of dg ink designed the hardback cover and oversaw the production of dyes for the embossed goldfoil stamping.
